Daring Promises

This is such a controversial topic. In my city there is not a day or place I can drive to without seeing a Fertility clinic along the way. And each one of them is quite busy.

On the other hand for young couples waiting for a child, it is definitely a frustrating and depressing period.

And then there is this daring promise in the Bible in which God is making a bold claim in Exodus 23:26 that

26No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.

If you are going through this situation, I just want to encourage you. The God of the Bible is unwavering in his promise and he can fulfill this promise even today no matter what the circumstances.

And the previous verses give us the key to unlocking the blessings of this promise

25“So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.  26No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.

God the father is asking us to trust him, obey him and serve him faithfully. That’s the key to the promise, faith and faithfulness.

The Bible is full of people who have been blessed according to this promise. Read the Bible passages of Hannah praying for Samuel, Elisabeth who was blessed with John the Baptist, Abraham trusting God for Issac, Issac who prayed for his wife Rebecca, the Shunamite woman who was blessed by prophet Elijah, and the list goes on.

Are you ready to claim this promise? Open your Bible, place your hand upon this verse and say I receive the blessing of this promise in Jesus’ name. Now look through the eyes of faith and faithfully serve the Lord. And the Lord will fulfill his promise and give you a child who is fearfully and wonderfully created according to psalm 139.

When I brought home my baby daughter from the hospital, I read psalm 139 in her hearing and thanked the Lord for the wonderful gift. I pray you have this blessing too. Amen
