A mother's prayer
A few weeks back I stumbled upon a collection of missionary biographies on Amazon.
As I was reading these beautiful biographies of missionaries who had travelled the world to share God's love, one thing struck me from these lives. It is the influence of the praying mother upon the child.
Often we as mothers pray for our children, and sometimes wonder if this prayer will be answered. These biographies cited so many instances of how a praying mom left an eternal imprint on their children.
So dear mothers, carry your child to the throne room of God, he will hear you and bless them.
Do you remember the many miracles in the Bible where a mother or a father went to Jesus and asked him to heal their son or daughter, and Jesus heard their request and healed their child. Yes, you as a parent have the authority to pray for your children for their healing, for their life, future and career. Jesus hears a parent's prayer and answers it according to their faith. Jairus prayed for his daughter and Jesus raised her from the dead. The syrophonecian woman prayed for her daughter and Jesus healer her instantly. Then there was the deaf and mute boy's father who prayed for his son who had epilepsy and Jesus healed him and made him well. Even James and John's mom requested Jesus and he answered her gently.
Have you ever thought that your child's blessing is in your asking and in your faith? Why don't you exercise that faith and look to Jesus today for the blessing or breakthrough you are waiting for in your child's life?
And above all, remember more than any earthly blessing is the most precious gift of forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ. So pray for their salvation and for them to know Jesus as their Lord even as you pray for earthly blessings.
